Refer a friend 10% discount T&Cs (Existing customers)

1) Who is the promoter of this offer?
The promoter of this offer is National Express Limited (company number 00232767) of National Express House, Birmingham Coach Station, Mill Lane, Digbeth, Birmingham B5 6DD (the “Promoter”, “our” and “us”)

 

2) What is the loyalty offer?
This promotion entitles the person who has either a referral code or a discount code 10% off the ticket price (inclusive of Restricted, Standard and Fully Flex fares) of a booking for up to two (2) passengers making a single or return journey (the “National Express Loyalty Refer a friend 10% discount”).

 

3) Who is the loyalty offer open to?
The National Express Loyalty Refer a friend 10% discount is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except our employees, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with the administration of this offer.

 

4) What does the offer discount apply to?
The National Express Loyalty Refer a friend 10% discount applies: 

  1. to the cost of the Adult and/or Child Ticket(s) only, and not to the Booking Fee and/or any of the “Add Extras” available from our website;
  2. to Tickets purchased from either our website (www.nationalexpress.com) or the National Express App, and not by any of the following means: 
    1. telephone call to our Customer Contact Centre; 
    2. National Express App 
    3. in person from one of our Stations or with a third party agents; 
    4. from a driver; or 
    5. from a Ticket Machine.


5) How is the loyalty offer redeemed?
To redeem 10% off the cost of your Ticket(s), you must: 

  • If you are an existing customer and are redeeming your discount code: be logged in to My Account to be able to access and redeem your discount code
  • make a booking for you and your additional passenger(s) at least twenty four (24) hours in advance of the outward travel date and time
  • enter the Refer a friend 10% Promotion code on the National Express checkout page prior to confirming and paying for your Ticket(s).


6) Can I make an amendment or get a refund after buying a ticket with the offer?
If you have purchased a Ticket using a Refer a friend 10%  Promotion code, and you: 

  • wish to amend your booking, an amendment fee and excess fare for the new Ticket will apply; and/or
  • are entitled to a refund in accordance with our conditions of carriage, the discounted amount will not be returned to you or transferable to another booking.


7) What is the loyalty offer discount exempt from? 
The Refer a friend 10% Promotion cannot be used: 

  • in respect of existing bookings; 
  • in conjunction with any other promotional offer; or 
  • to obtain any of the following: 
    • Tickets for European Services and/or Third Party Provider services;
    • Tickets for travel on any UK bank holiday dates
    • open return or season tickets;
    • any Events detailed on the “Events” page of our website and/or National Express App;
    • accommodation or ferry travel for any Event detailed on the “Events” page of our website and/or National Express App;
    • any of the “Add Extras”; or
    • the fee for receiving an SMS Ticket, if selected as part of a booking. 


8) Can I transfer, give, resell or loan my discounted ticket?
The Refer a friend 10% Promotion code, and each Ticket obtained using it, is not transferable and must not be given, loaned or resold to anyone else. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Refer a friend 10% discount Promotion in the event that any person, other than you, uses this offer to book or otherwise obtain travel or any other benefit from us.

 

9) Can I receive my discount in another way?
No cash or other alternative will be given.

All tickets issued are subject to availability. 


These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law and any dispute relating to these terms and conditions will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except if the customer lives in Scotland and in such circumstances legal proceedings may be brought in either the Scottish or English courts.
