The 6 most Instagrammable places in the UK

Where will your Instagram take you?

Let’s be honest, when it comes to travelling these days a lot of our decisions are based on whether or not it’s going to look good on social media. (Chrome filter anyone?)

So to give you a hand with that next dynamite holiday snap for your Instagram, we’ve put together our favourite destinations based on what’s most worthy of your feed and your money!

1 - Brighton Pier, Brighton

Everyone needs a quality sunset shot for their Insta, and Brighton Pier offers a classically English one. With plenty to see and do, whether you’re just after a stroll on the beach or a way to keep the kids busy, the pics come easy in Brighton.

Of course, there’s much more than just the pier to see. The Lanes, Brighton’s Harry Potter-esque labyrinth of traditional cobbled shops and boutiques, offers plenty of Insta inspiration and a trip to the uber-grand Royal Pavilion is a must for those who love impressive architecture.

Brighton Pier can be reached from Brighton Coach Station in just a few minutes walk.

2 - Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh

With the end of Game of Thrones having come and gone (don’t start), maybe it’s time to create your own adventure at Edinburgh Castle? Steeped in history and boasting incredible views of the Scottish city, the castle is a big hit on social media and is sure to create some great memories too.

Enjoy getting out and about? Don’t forget that Edinburgh is known for some amazing hiking trails, with a trip to the jaw-dropping Arthur’s Seat being essential photo-fodder for any outdoorsman (or woman).

Edinburgh Castle can be reached from Edinburgh Coach Station within a 15 minute walk.

3 - Issho, Leeds

If you’re Instagram is more food and funky cocktails than mud and outdoor trails, Leeds may be the choice for you. Issaho is a relatively new venue but it’s already picking up steam on social media.

This Japanese sushi restaurant has a vibrant and cosy interior, but where it really shines is in its rooftop garden area overlooking the city. Guaranteed to boost your likes, we recommend a fun lunch here or maybe a liquid pitstop to get the most of its Instagrammable qualities.

If you fancy something a bit more cultural after your stop (or if it’s raining!), be sure to meander round to the Royal Armouries Museum or Leeds Art Gallery to capture your sophisticated side and enjoy some really unique pieces.

Issaho can be reached from Leeds Coach Station in just a 5 minute walk.

4 - Trafalgar Square, London

One of London’s most Instagrammable landmarks, Trafalgar Square offers plenty of opportunities for a great selfie and is also surrounded by museums, galleries, cultural spaces and historic buildings. Try fitting all that in!

Of course, while you’re in the capital there are hundreds of other places to bulk up your social feed. Further on from Trafalgar, you’ll find all manner of famous landmarks including cultural venues, boho shopping areas, supreme street food and more. The Natural History Museum, Sky Garden and Borough Market all spring to mind when it comes to affordable photo ops.

Trafalgar Square is a 30 minute walk from Victoria Coach Station or a short ride on the Underground.

5 - Digbeth Dining Club, Birmingham

Just down the road from Birmingham Coach Station is Lower Trinity Street, where you can sample the best in street food every Thursday-Sunday and grab the finest gourmet shots for your Insta feed.

Close by is the Old Crown, Birmingham’s oldest building dating back to 1368, vintage shopping at Cow and Urban Village, the street art tour featured in the Spielberg movie Ready Player One, and shopping at the Bullring and Grand Central. That’s enough to keep any social influencer busy!

Digbeth Dining Club is no more than a 10 minute walk from Birmingham Coach Station.

6 - Cambridge University, Cambridge

Finally, why not take a trip to the beautiful grounds of Cambridge University and add a touch of English heritage to your Insta grid? From the traditional campus buildings to the breathtaking King’s College Chapel and the university’s botanic garden, there’s a lot to enjoy about Cambridge’s classic style and beautiful architecture.

If all that exploring makes you a little tired, there’s always time to relax in one of Cambridge’s picturesque parks. We think you’ll find Jesus Green and Parker’s Piece ideal for a sit-down, a picnic and, of course, the ideal summer Insta shot.

Most of the university buildings can be reached from Cambridge Coach Station within a 15 minute walk.
