8 reasons why coaches are reliably better than trains

In a world where reliability can feel like a luxury, from the price of a loaf of bread to snagging a doctor’s appointment, and especially catching that train—we get it. Reliability matters more than ever, and that's where we come in, we're committed to providing you with a dependable travel experience. Discover why you can trust us to keep your journey smooth and stress-free.

1. The world is your oyster with a guaranteed seat

When you book with us, securing a seat on our coaches is guaranteed - there’s no chance of standing for hours in an overcrowded packed out carriage! Having your own seat means you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey while we take care of the driving. And remember, you can reserve your favourite spot when booking or later through My Account. (Available on select services—visit our seat reservations page page for more info).

2. Feel comfortable and feel at home

We all know how phones can lose charge or signal at the worst times—like in those annoyingly long train tunnels! That’s why we offer free on-board Wi-Fi and power sockets  during your journey. Stay charged and connected while enjoying the comfort of our spacious, reclining seats. Sit back, relax, and stretch out knowing we've got you covered.

3. Much more affordable than the train

Picture this: a trip from London to Bristol by train typically sets you back about £32 one-way*. Opt for us, and the same journey starts from just £3.90 one-way, saving you a substantial £28.10. That's enough to enjoy a leisurely lunch overlooking Bristol Harbour, watching boats sail by.

*Based on one adult booking through The Trainline, travelling off-peak on Saturday, April 8th and booking the cheapest possible fare.

4. We’re with you every step of the way

Need assistance? Our top-notch customer service team is at your service 7 days a week, online or at our coach stations, ready to tackle any queries you throw our way. Once you're set to hop aboard, our friendly drivers roll out the red carpet treatment, lending a hand with your luggage. Our coaches are fully accessible, and our Assisted Travel Team  is here to ensure your journey is smooth sailing. It's a far more relaxed experience compared to the rush and crush of a train platform.

5. Convenient stops across the country

As the number one coach company, we've got more stops across the UK than any other. Our convenient city-centre locations mean you're delivered right into the heart of the action without the need for lengthy journeys. Plus, we'll whisk you away to top UK events and festivals like Glastonbury, The Grand National, and Taylor Swift's Eras tour—all with ease and comfort, what more could you ask for.

6. Look after the planet

Did you know that our coaches are one of the  sustainable ways to travel? A fully loaded coach can remove up to 50 cars from the road, clearing over a mile of traffic. Coaches emit just 33g of greenhouse gases per passenger kilometre, far less than the approximately 200g emitted by the average diesel or petrol car—nearly seven times more! While trains emit 44g, opting for our coaches not only reduces your carbon footprint but also offers additional perks that are kind to both the planet and your wallet.

7. Safety first

Your safety is our top priority, backed by robust systems and protocols. Each coach is equipped with CCTV for added security, advanced emergency braking to alert drivers to potential hazards, and fatigue monitoring to ensure driver alertness and well-being. Our 24-hour control centre monitors road conditions and traffic delays, ensuring your coach always takes the best route possible to keep you safe and on time. - We really do cover all bases.

8. All backed up by our customers

All of these things combined have earned us over 30,000 5-star Trustpilot reviews! Customers rave about our reliable service after turning to us during rail strikes,. Customers praise us for providing comfortable journeys, timely arrivals, and friendly interactions with our drivers, especially during train strikes. Brian summed it up perfectly: he now chooses us over rail for hassle-free travel.

What are you waiting for? Travelling with us is a no-brainer!
