8 reasons why coaches are reliably better than trains

There are lots of things that have become pretty unreliable lately – the price of a loaf, getting a doctor’s appointment, and of course getting the train. We know how frustrating it can be when things don’t go to plan, which is why we pride ourselves on having a whole host of reliable reasons to travel with us. Read on to find out why you can count on us.

1. The world is your oyster with a guaranteed seat

When you book with us, you will get a guaranteed seat on board one of our coaches –  there’s no chance of standing for hours in an overcrowded packed out carriage! The possibilities are endless when you have your own seat, you can relax, sit back comfortably and simply leave all the driving to us.  Did you know you can also reserve your favourite seat through My Account?

2. Feel comfortable and feel at home

We all know sometimes phones can lose charge, or your signal is not at its best when you need it the most - especially when travelling through an annoyingly long tunnel on a train!  That’s why you are more than welcome to take advantage of our free on-board Wi-Fi and power sockets on your travels, so you can stay charged and connected whilst sitting back, relaxing and stretching out with plenty of leg room in our comfortable reclining seats.

3. Much more affordable than the train

Let’s say you’re travelling from London to Bristol – on the train that would cost you around £32 one-way*. If you book with us, that same journey would cost you from as little as  £3.90 one-way, which makes a saving of £28.10. You could put that money towards lunch looking over Bristol Harbour and watch the boats float by.

*Based on one adult booking through The Trainline, travelling off-peak on Saturday, April 8th and booking the cheapest possible fare.

4. We’re with you every step of the way

Our super customer service team is available 7 days a week, online or at our coach stations, to answer any questions you may have. Once you’re ready to hop on board, our friendly drivers will give you the VIP treatment you deserve and help you with your bags. Our coaches are also fully accessible, and our Assisted Travel Team is here to make sure you’re comfortable on your trip. It’s much more relaxing than scrambling off the platform and onto the train.

5. Convenient stops across the country

We’re the number 1 coach company for a reason, with more stops across the UK than anyone else. We have convenient stops right in the middle of the biggest cities, taking you right to the heart of the action and picking you up without making you travel miles first, because that’s just annoying. We can even take you to some of the biggest events and festivals in the UK, including Glastonbury, The Grand National, and King Charles’ Coronation.

6. Look after the planet

Did you know our coaches are one of the most sustainable ways to travel? One full coach alone could take 50 cars off the road, removing over a mile of traffic. A coach produces 33g of greenhouse gases per passenger km, whereas your average diesel or petrol car is around 200g – almost 7 times more! Just to compare, a train produces 44g, which of course is still a lot better than driving everywhere, but with all of our additional perks, we're better for the planet and for your pocket..

7. Safety first

We have plenty of systems and protocols in place to make sure everyone is safe when travelling with us. This includes CCTV fitted on every coach, advanced emergency braking which alerts drivers to what is going on in front of the coach and even fatigue monitoring which keeps an eye on the driver’s alertness and wellbeing. In addition to all these, our  24 hour control centre monitors road traffic and delays to ensure your coach is always on the best route possible.

8. All backed up by our customers

All of these things combined have earned us over 30,000 5-star Trustpilot reviews! We’ve received lots of feedback from our customers who have switched to us due to train strikes, and we’re very happy to hear they have had very comfortable journeys, arrived in plenty of time and met our friendly drivers. One reviewer, Brian, said he ‘will book the coach and forget about rail,’ because of our reliable services.

What are you waiting for? Travelling with us is a no-brainer!
