Seven Noses of Soho - National Wonders

Published 17 April 2019

How much do you nose about London?

Spring is here so we’ve taken advantage of the blue skies and longer evenings by taking a National Wonder’s trip to the big smoke!

If you’ve already been to England’s capital city, then you've probably ticked off lots of free things to see in London such as The British Museum, Borough Market or the Houses of Parliament. You may have even been to Soho and visited the great Carnaby Street but we think there's one mysterious phenomenon there that you might have missed - The Seven Noses of Soho.

We know when there’s something that’s worth sniffing out...

What are the Seven Noses of Soho?

The name gives it away a little but there are seven plaster noses hidden in plain sight around London's Soho neighbourhood. The artist was provoked by the controversial introduction of CCTV cameras throughout London so installed multiple plaster noses underneath the noses of lots of the cameras. Many of them were removed however seven of them remain and hence the ‘Seven noses’ were born. The prank was not publicised and so urban myths grew to explain the appearance of the noses.

Rumour has it that if you can locate all seven noses of Soho then great wealth will come your way.

See what fun we had when Ben took a trip to Soho in search of the ‘Seven Noses of Soho’. The best things are often right underneath your nose… (sorry!)
