The Great Bath Feast – FREE

Food and drink fans will be in seventh heaven with a visit to Bath throughout October, when the city is transformed for a month-long celebration of all things edible.

Walk the halls and corridors where hit BBC TV shows such as Doctor Who and Sherlock are filmed on this fantastic, 40-minute tour.

Brighton Comedy Festival – tickets around £14

If it’s laughter your after then head down to Brighton for one of the biggest and best comedy festivals the world has to offer.

Manchester Science Festival – FREE
Begins 24 October
A festival featuring everything from demonstrations of 3D printing and interactive experiments to lectures from international science experts. For those who like their science a little more out-of-this-world, there are back-to-back showings of the very best in sci-fi films (ticket costs will apply for viewings). Halloween at Birmingham Botanical Gardens – FREE for under-16’s
A frighteningly fun day (and night!) out for all the family and all ages. This annual event draws hundreds of families from across the country to these picturesque city centre gardens.
