Why travelling with kids by coach just makes sense

Why travelling with kids by coach just makes sense

We know that family travel isn’t always a joyful montage of harmonious singalongs and nutritious snacks. In reality, it’s more “Why is someone crying over raisins again?” and “How are we out of wipes already?”

That’s why we’ve designed our coach services to make things a lot easier for you, your kids, and yes, your wallet.

Kids cost less. Sometimes, nothing at all.

Travel with kids

Let’s start with the headline act: Children under 3 travel free, and older kids enjoy discounted fares. That means more money for ice cream, novelty keyrings, and entry to that attraction you swore you’d never visit again.

Unlike certain train journeys, you won’t need to sell your favourite child to afford a return trip to the seaside during half term.

Luggage included. Yes, even that bag.

Travelling with kids = taking everything you own. We get it. That’s why our Free luggage allowance is so generous. So go ahead, pack the third pair of emergency socks and the entire Mr Men collection.

Less stress. More sanity.

Here’s the deal: you sit, we drive. No traffic tantrums, no parking roulette, no refueling while juggling juice boxes. We drop you closer to the fun, whether it's a beach, a castle, or the UK's third-largest dinosaur museum. (True story.)

Entertainment (and power) on board

We’ve got free Wi-Fi and USB charging ports on most coaches. Which means your children’s favourite shows can keep playing, and your phone won’t die just as you’re Googling “nearest playground with coffee”

Kinder to the planet and your conscience

Coach travel emits significantly less CO₂ than cars or planes, so you can feel just a bit smug as you roll into town. Especially if you remembered to pack the reusable water bottles. Gold star for you.

Destinations families actually want to visit

We serve hundreds of destinations across the UK, from cultural cities like York, Oxford, and Bath to coastal gems like Bournemouth, Brighton and Blackpool. All great options for cheap family days out, whether you're after museums, sandcastles or something in between.

Want to travel like you’ve done this before?

Here’s the thing: families who travel with us aren’t just saving money they’re in the know. They’ve figured out that coach travel with National Express means fewer surprises, more convenience, and no last-minute panic about train platforms or parking permits.

If you’re looking for a smarter, calmer, more affordable way to plan your next family day out, you're in the right place. Because if you know, you go National Express.
