Coach Travel from the Airport to Leicester
Our partnership with the University of Leicester makes travelling from the airport easy! Board your coach at London Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or Birmingham Airports, and travel to the Leicester St Margaret’s Bus Station for free between 10-21 September 2025. To be eligible for this offer, you must be a new, international student joining the University of Leicester in September 2025. Please note, there are limited vouchers for this offer, and they will be given out on a first-come first-served basis. Only one voucher code is permitted per student.
How to redeem this offer:
- You will need to complete the booking form to request your voucher code from the University of Leicester.
- Please note that it can take up to 3 working days to receive your voucher code.
- Once you have received your voucher code (via email) from the University of Leicester, you will be able to select your desired pick-up location, time, and date of travel using the above journey planner. You will need to leave plenty of time between when your flight lands and your coach's departure time. We recommend selecting the ‘Fully Flexible’ ticket so that you can make changes to your booking without incurring a fee.
- To continue with your reservation, click 'Checkout as Guest' and complete the 'Your details' section. If you add any 'Extras' at this stage (see details in the Terms and Conditions), they will be charged at the checkout.
- Please note that the free transfer service applies to new University of Leicester students only, studying an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD programme. If you are travelling with a partner, friend, or family members, you can buy additional tickets on the National Express website. Please read the Terms and Conditions; see below for more details.
If you wish to make any changes to your booking, you can contact us at National Express. Please note an amendment fee may apply.
If you have any questions about the airport transfer or your arrival at the University of Leicester, please contact study@le.ac.uk and include your full name and student ID number (9-digit number e.g., 2590xxxxx) and use the subject title ‘National Express’.

Terms and Conditions
- Valid for travel between 10-21 September 2025 for new international students joining the University of Leicester in September 2025 (one voucher code permitted per student).
- Only valid for travel from Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, Stansted Airport and Birmingham Airport coach station to Leicester St Margaret’s Bus Station.
- Your National Express ticket must be booked a minimum of three working days prior to travelling.
- If you change your ticket an amendment fee may apply.
- The National Express luggage allowance (free of charge and stored in the hold of the coach):
- 1 large suitcase or rucksack, measuring no more than 75cm x 50cm x 32cm and weighing no more than 20kg.
- Subject to availability only: instead of 1 large suitcase or rucksack, you may carry 2 medium suitcases, measuring no more than 70cm x 45cm x 30cm and weighing no more than 20kg in total.
- Please note: Any extras, such as luggage or seat reservations, are not included in the University of Leicester offer. If required, you will need to add these to the booking and pay for them by card on the payment screen.
