At National Express we appreciate that our customers may feel anxious about how coach tickets purchased for our services might be affected by the UK leaving the EU without the future trading relationship agreed in outline (a no-deal Brexit) on 31 January 2020.

As such we’d like to offer our customers, who have purchased a coach ticket where the pick-up or destination is a ferry port or airport going to an EU member state, a refund for the value of the coach ticket in the form of a free journey offer for alternative dates of travel if their flight or ferry is disrupted due to Brexit.

Terms & conditions

In order to qualify for this free journey offer, the following terms and conditions shall apply:

  1. You must supply your: personal details, booking confirmation number, and time and date of your intended journey with National Express.
  2. Your journey with us must fall within the date range of from 31 January 2020 to 29 February 2020 if the UK exits the EU without a deal on 31 January 2020.
  3. Your intended journey must either start or end at an airport or ferry port.
  4. You must supply proof of the flight or ferry booking and proof of flight or ferry cancellation.
  5. All refunds shall be supplied to you from us in a free journey offer or an amendment to the travel date. There will be no cash equivalent refund.
  6. The offer of a free journey will expire on the 29 February 2020.
  7. The free journey offer may only be redeemed once.
  8. The free journey offer excludes ancillary National Express products such as extra luggage or insurance.
  9. The free journey offer must be redeemed on a journey that originates or terminates at an Airport or ferry port.
  10. The free journey offer issued will have the same value as the price you paid for the affected journey.
  11. This refund policy only applies to tickets purchased directly from National Express or from authorised ticket agents or partners.
