Improving accessible travel
We aim to offer a consistently high standard of service to our customers and want as many people as possible to make use of our services. Recent improvements have included the introduction of our Code of Practice and a dedicated team to help customers on our Assisted Travel Helpline.
Accessible coaches
We regularly invest in new coaches and a large number of our fleet now have a wheelchair lift at the front entrance to make travelling with us as accessible as possible.
These coaches have an extra large entrance, a flat floor throughout the coach to aid mobility and the wheelchair can be locked firmly in place, with the customer having access to the same three-point seatbelt as on standard seats.
We are aiming to make our fleet completely accessible by the end of 2013.
Please note
Our current selection of accessible coaches only have one wheelchair space, which means we cannot guarantee the space will be available - even when booking online so please call us before you book your travel. Our dedicated team will arrange your booking and make the driver aware of your requirements in advance.

Using your Coachcard
You can use your Coachcard to book discounted tickets online, by phone, or at counters and ticket machines in any of our outlets.
When travelling with your card, please always carry with you:
- Your coach ticket
- Your Coachcard
- Proof of disability
If you cannot show any of the above when requested at any point during your journey, you may be required to pay the full adult fare.
Disabled children should be booked as 'children' rather than 'disabled' but if they are travelling in a wheelchair or you wish to book assistance with travel, please call our helpline before booking at least 36 hours in advance of when you would like to travel. 08717 81 81 79 (option 4) - open 0800-2000. Disabled Coachcard Terms & Conditions
1. Card entitles you to 1/3 off 'adult standard fares' on National Express coaches
2. Discounted tickets available at any time, every day
3. Discounted tickets can be purchased online, by phone and at any National Express outlet or ticket machines
4. Please show the driver your Coachcard when boarding. You may be asked for proof of disability
5. Maximum of four Coachcards can be used per booking
Exclusions
1. Cards and discounted tickets cannot be purchased from drivers
2. Card is not refundable or transferable
3. Card is not valid with FunFares, special offer fares or promotional fares
4. Card is not valid on journeys that start or end at an airport, nor on special events, 3rd party operated services, Hotel Hoppa, Eurolines or Ulsterbus
5. Not valid where accommodation, admission or ferry travel is included within the fare
