White Christmas, Edinburgh Playhouse
White Christmas, the record-breaking box office film of 1954 starring Bing Crosby, has been adapted for the stage for a new show at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
The play tells the story of successful Broadway partners Wallace and Davis, who travel to Vermont on vacation with their girlfriends the Hayes Sisters, but soon find out that because there is no snow they are the only guests at a ski resort.
To help out, the pair organise a Broadway-bound revue at the resort and appeal to their army acquaintances to help out, with the result proving a spectacular and emotional finale.
White Christmas is probably best known for the inclusion of the Irving Berlin-penned Christmas classic on the score, which will be performed for this production by a 17-piece orchestra.
The show runs at the Edinburgh Playhouse from November 19th-27th.
Address: Edinburgh Playhouse, 18-22 Greenside Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3AA.
