Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs, London

The treasures of ancient Egypt are to be exhibited in the UK from November as the lavish, ground-breaking Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs exhibition.

The exhibit features over 130 ancient Egyptian relics, which have been transported from the boy king tomb and other Valley of the Kings burial sites, as well as a specially commissioned film from National Geographic.

Meanwhile, cutting-edge science has been employed to create new scan images of Tutankhamun's mummy, which has enabled historians to develop an accurate 3D reconstruction of his face.

When the show originally came to London in 1972, it attracted an impressive 1.7 million visitors.

The exhibit opens on November 15th and ends on August 30th 2008.

Tickets are not yet on sale, but those interested can pre-register on the show's official website.

Address: The O2, Peninsula Square, London, SE10 0DX.
