The Searchers, City Varieties Music Hall, Leeds

The Searchers will be playing Leeds later this month as part of a nationwide tour.

Originally formed as a skiffle group, the band then became an archetypal 1960s beat combination as leading players in the Merseybeat scene, regularly appearing at the Cavern alongside their peers Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Beatles and The Swinging Blue Jeans.

Among their hits were Sweets for My Sweet, Sugar and Spice, Needles and Pins, and Don't Throw Your Love Away, as well as a cover of The Clovers' Love Potion No. 9.

The Searchers will be playing Leeds City Varieties Music Hall on November 11th.
