The Producers, Millennium Centre, Cardiff
Mel Brooks' classic comedy The Producers comes to Cardiff's Millennium Centre during November for a short run.
Set in 1950s New York, the play tells the story of down on his luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock and his accountant Leo Bloom's plan to write a flop musical and then pocket the surplus money put in by investors.
The result is Springtime For Hitler - an execrable exercise in tastelessness starring a loopy Swedish songstress that nonetheless bucks the odds to become a massive hit.
The production touring the UK features performances from 1980s funnyman Russ Abbot, popular stand-up comedian and former I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here-star Joe Pasquale and up-and-coming young actor Cory English.
A 2005 remake of Brooks' movie garnered four nominations at that year's Golden Globe awards.
Address: The Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff, CF10 5AL.
