The Lord of the Rings - The Musical
Featuring dazzling special effects, a specially designed stage and a cast of over 70 actors, musicians and singers, The Lord of the Rings - The Musical is arguably one of the most ambitious theatrical projects ever attempted on a London stage.
Since it was first published in the 1950s and drawing on Arthurian myth, JRR Tolkein's fable has since gone on to become one of the world's most enduringly popular books and has spawned an extravagant cinematic adaptation from Peter Jackson.
The current cast includes Royal Shakespeare Company's Malcolm Storry as Gandalf, while Michael Therriault assumes the role of Gollum, for which he was awarded the Dora Award for Best Actor in Toronto last year. Galadriel, meanwhile, will be played by Michelle Kelly, who was last seen on the London stage as Mary Poppins.
Tickets are priced between £20 and £60 (not including booking fee).
Address: Theatre Royal Drury Lane, Catherine Street, London, WC2B 5JF.
