Tartan Party on the Green, Glasgow

Huge television screens will relay all the action from Scotland's crucial Euro 2008 qualifier against Italy this weekend for a special event on Glasgow Green.

As well as the chance to soak up the big match atmosphere, the Tartan Party on the Green have assembled a host of attractions for the event to ensure the occasion goes with a bang.

Among these are a troupe of actors re-enacting scenes from the Mel Gibson movie Braveheart, face-painters and Flame Oz - a fire breathing circus act.

Meanwhile, a suitably stirring soundtrack will be provided by bagpipers and a firework display, while beer tents will ensure the crowd are refreshed.

Scotland are well placed to qualify for the championships and are currently placed second in their group, ahead of World Cup finalists France.

The match kicks off at 5pm November 17th.
