Supreme Cat Show, NEC, Birmingham
Cat-lovers may be interested to know The Supreme Cat Show is being held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham on November 22nd.
Its organisers describe it as "the feline equivalent of Crufts" and say it will feature 1,000 neuters, cats and kittens.
With two main categories for the award of Supreme Cat, owners with pedigree or non-pedigree animals compete for the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) award.
For those who are not intending to enter the competition, approximately 200 exhibitors are expected to attend and activities will be available for adults and children.
Authors Sheila Collins, Dianne Comber and Tom Cox will be signing books at the show and a series of workshops on keeping cats happy and healthy are being held by Pet Education 4 U's owner, Lorraine Duffy.
The GCCF describes itself as "the feline Kennel Club" and was established in 1910.
It is affiliated with 144 cat clubs, 135 cat shows and deals with the registration of 30,000 pedigree animals annually.
