Simple Minds, LG Arena, Birmingham
Scottish rock group Simple Minds are going to play the LG Arena in Birmingham on November 28th.
Their current tour is their 30-year anniversary, for which they are doing a number of shows through the month as a celebration.
In an interview with the Lancashire Telegraph, singer Jim Kerr says: "Putting a set list together has been challenging."
He adds: "What we've tried to do is give a sense of the journey that the band has been on."
Their 2004 collection Silver Box was described by the Guardian as spanning "eclectic experimentalism through clapalong mega-pomp".
According to Lala.com, the band's debut - Life in a Day - pre-figured the New Wave edge which characterised the group's music from the second album.
It states the band began producing "undisguised pop" and their seventh album, Sparkle in the Rain, was produced by Steve Lillywhite, who had worked on a number of U2's albums.
Don't You (Forget About Me) - which featured on the soundtrack of The Breakfast Club - became Simple Minds' first American number one record, the source reports.
National Express operates bus and coach services to Birmingham from all major towns and cities across the UK.
