Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Netherbow Centre, Edinburgh

The Scottish International Storytelling Festival runs from Friday October 26th to Sunday November 4th at the Netherbow Centre in Edinburgh.

The theme of this year's event is 'Out of Eden: Scotland and Africa', and both Scottish and African oral heritage and their importance as living, contemporary art forms and cultural artefact will be celebrated.

As part of the programme there will be live performance storytelling events and workshops, as well as literature, music, song and visual arts events, focussing on preserving and promoting one of the world's oldest literary and performance art forms.

Now in its 18th year, the festival has gone from strength to strength, with over 20,000 adults and children taking part in last year's festival, across over 140 events.

Address: The Netherbow Centre, 43 High Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1SR
