Portsmouth Screen, Portsmouth
Portsmouth is gearing up for its Screen Festival, which runs from November 10th to 18th, in venues across the city.
Portsmouth Screen, now in its third year, looks to promote the city's creative audio-visual arts scene, and celebrates the work of local as well as that of national and international filmmakers.
The nine-day event features workshops, networking events, VJ-jamms, master classes as well as a 48-hour filmmaking challenge, in venues including the NO6 Cinema, Havana Cafe Bar and the Third Floor Theatre.
The event will also feature screenings of A Mighty Heart directed by Michael Winterbottom and starring Angelina Jolie, which has won praise for its portrayal of the events surrounding the kidnapping and murder of the journalist Daniel Pearl.
