Picasso exhibitions, Edinburgh
Pablo Picasso is the subject to two exhibitions showing in Edinburgh until September.
The Picasso On Paper exhibit runs at the Dean Gallery and takes the form of a chronological account of the artist's career from his etchings in the early 1900s, taking in his pre-war cubist period and closing with his later, sexually-charged works.
The show contains a number of the artist's most famous pieces, which have been obtained on loan, including the iconic depiction of the Spanish town Guernica after being carpet bombed during the Spanish Civil War.
Meanwhile, the Picasso: Fired with Passion exhibit contains ceramics, metalwork and lithography from the period 1947-55 and can be viewed at the National Museum of Scotland.
The Picasso On Paper exhibition runs until September 23rd, while the Picasso: Fired with Passion closes on October 28th.
