What's on guide
NHL ice hockey, O2 Arena, London
British Ice Hockey fans are set for a treat as London's O2 Arena hosts the first games of the 2007-08 National Hockey League (NHL) season, with the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks taking on each other twice in quick succession.
On Saturday September 29th 2007, the Ducks will take on the mantle of home side despite their British surroundings, while the next day - Sunday September 30th 2007 - will see the Kings ostensibly act as hosts.
These games from the Pacific division of the Western Conference of the NHL will see the first competitive pucks hit in anger since the Anaheim Ducks picked up the Stanley Cup after they topped the Western Conference.
Founded in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company, the Ducks were originally dubbed the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim - picking up their moniker from the successful Disney film starring Emilio Estevez as the unwilling coach of a struggling peewee hockey team.
