What's on guide
Moseley Folk Festival, Moseley Park, Birmingham
Amid the publicity generated by Glastonbury and T in the Park, it would be easy to overlook some of the vibrant, smaller events which help to make the summer festival season such a joy for music fans.
One of the low-profile events which promises to entertain the more adventurous music lover is the Moseley Folk Festival, which takes place in Moseley Park from September 4th - 6th 2009.
As the name suggests, there are plenty of folk bands on the bill, but there are also a variety of acts from other genres.
For example, the headline band on the opening day is veteran indie-pop outfit Saint Etienne. They have 20 years of hits to choose from for their set, but have confirmed they will play their debut album Foxbase Alpha in its entirety at the festival.
Friday's line-up also includes indie favourites The Pastels, who will be joined on stage by Japanese pop duo Tenniscoats.
BRIT-award winning singer-songwriter Beth Orton tops Saturday's bill, while Sunday's line-up is a folk fan's delight complete with Jethro Tull, Cara Dillon, and Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick.
National Express offers music fans the ability to get to their favourite gigs quickly and comfortably.
