Military concert featuring Chinese ship crews, Mary Rose, Portsmouth
Visitors to the historic ship the Mary Rose this weekend will be able to see a live performance from the band of the visiting Chinese ships G Guanzhou and CS Wei Shanhu.
The bands will perform between 2pm and 3pm on September 8th and 9th in free-to-attend concerts.
The concert is one of many forthcoming events hosted in and around the Tudor-era vessel, including Heritage Trails in which visitors can fire a musket, and lecture events focussing on Portsmouth's naval history.
The 82-gun Mary Rose was built between 1509-10, as one of the Royal Navy's first purpose built warships, and is thought to have been named after the sister of Henry VIII.
She sank following an engagement with a French fleet in 1545, and was only lifted from the ocean floor in 1982.
