Jill Scott, Glasgow ABC
Honey-voiced Philadelphia singing sensation Jill Scott plays Glasgow later this month as part of a tour to promote her third album The Real Thing (Words and Sounds Volume 3).
Jill first came to attention after singing back-up vocals for acclaimed, underground Hip-Hop band The Roots in the late 1990s.
Since then she has been embraced by urban music fans as a figurehead of the nu-soul movement and has scored hits with A Long Walk, Gettin' in the Way and Golden.
She has also enjoyed forays into acting, most recently in TV comedy Why Did I Get Married? - and is soon to star in a series based on Alexander McCall Smiths' No 1 Ladies Detective Agency books.
Jill Scott plays the Glasgow ABC on November 17th.
Address: 292-332, Sauciehall Street, Glasgow, G2 3JA.
Other concerts taking place in Glasgow throughout November include appearances from Take That, the evergreen Cliff Richard and the Sugababes.
