International Dance Festival Birmingham, Various locations
The International Dance Festival Birmingham (IDFB) is a month-long celebration of the most exciting dance performances, with contributors from all over the globe.
Starting on April 29th with the Moon Water show by the Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, the IDFB is set to take over various venues throughout the city, with the Birmingham Hippodrome holding host to the Moon Water performance.
Visitors to Victoria Square on May 2nd will be treated to a spectacular performance by acclaimed director Hofesh Shechter, which will begin at 21:00 GMT after night has fallen.
There will also be a series of workshops for young and old alike, encouraging people of all abilities to put on their dancing shoes.
Partly funded by Birmingham city council, the IFDB is described by councillor Ray Hassall as an "exciting event which will no doubt become a highlight in cultural calendar".
