Glasgow on Ice, George Square, Glasgow
Glasgow's famous George Square becomes a winter wonderland in November, offering an oasis of fun amid the stresses and strains of the countdown to Christmas.
Visitors to the square's special Glasgow on Ice event will be able to skate on one of the largest rinks in Europe, while enjoying the festive lights and nativity plays.
The programme also includes ice discos, themed evenings, Santa's Grotto, a cafe, concessions stalls and a host of traditional children's fairground rides.
The official switch-on of Glasgow's seasonal illuminations is scheduled for November 18th at 6.30 pm. The event will also include pre-show entertainment to be hosted by George Bowie of Clyde 1 Radio-fame.
Glasgow on Ice takes place from November 26 to January 6, and is open to visitors six days a week.
