Field Day Festival
Most right-thinking folk would assume that traditional English fete games and cutting-edge music would make strange bedfellows. For the most part, they'd be right. But they also won't have been to Field Day.
Held at Victoria Park in London's East End, this year Field Day teams a creative approach to sideshows - attractions include splat the rat and welly throwing - with a bill to carve itself a unique niche in Britain's festival calendar.
This year's line-up includes Gruff Rhys of Welsh soft-psyche wonders the Super Furry Animals, Mercury Music Prize shoo-in Bat For Lashes and French electro wonders Justice. Meanwhile, the dance tent offers Balearic hero Andrew Weatherall and remixer to the stars Erol Alkan.
The event runs from 12:00am to 10.30 pm on Saturday August 11th.
