Christmas Lights Switch-On, Bournemouth

Bournemouth's Christmas lights are set to be switched on later this month, heralding the beginning of a programme of festive events for the town.

The switch-on is set for November 18th at 5.15pm, with further entertainment on the night coming from the Black Thunders and DJ ' s from local radio station 2CR in the town square.

On November 17th, the square will play host to face painter and a costumed Jack Frost and Toy Solider, while on November 25th white and green fairies will be greeting crowds.

Meanwhile, on December 1st, 8th and 16th Santa and his reindeer will be entertaining the crowds.

From the 24th December to 6th January, the 'Funderland' festive experience, will be taking place in the Square and will feature a fairground rides, a bar, a café and food stalls, while on December 9th The Story of Christmas will be told by a parade of children.
