Bull Ring Gallery, Birmingham Museum, Birmingham
Birmingham's famous Bull Ring shopping centre, now renowned for its cutting-edge architecture, has now got its own exhibition.
Visitors to the Midlands' commercial centre can now take a closer look at the Bull Ring's 900-year history with this new exhibition at Birmingham Museum.
The Bull Ring Gallery takes visitors back in time to the city's oldest retail site.
Audio commentary and interactive displays chart the history of the market that once stood on the current Bull Ring shopping centre.
Visitors can also experience what it was like to be a town crier in the 1800s as well as the rat catchers that used to roam the site many years ago.
The exhibition also displays a piece of the state-of-the-art material used as part of the building's recent facelift on the outside walls of the bulbous Selfridges extension.
The exhibition runs until August 1st 2008.
Entrance to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery as well as the community museums is completely free.
