Birmingham City v Chelsea, St Andrews, Birmingham

Alex McLeish's Birmingham City will welcome table-toppers Chelsea to St Andrews this winter.

The two sides, who are at differing ends of the Premier League, will go head-to-head on Saturday December 26th 2009.

City are currently averaging one point per game, which should be enough to keep them safe from relegation, having been promoted from the Championship last year.

They have had mixed results so far, having beaten Hull, Portsmouth and Sunderland but suffered defeats against the likes of Burnley, Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal.

In his first season in charge, Carlo Ancelotti has taken Chelsea straight to the summit of the league with a string of impressive displays.

Their last four games have witnessed three 4-0 victories and a 5-0 win, while they have also secured crucial wins over Tottenham and Liverpool.

However, as the season goes on, Chelsea will lose a number of players to the African Nations Cup, while a year-long transfer ban which was handed out earlier in the season might also affect their chances.
