Big City Jazz, Leeds
Veteran musicians the Chris Barber Band as well as Clare Teal - the winner of BBC Jazz Vocalist 2006 - headline the Big City Jazz event in Leeds later this month.
Both artists will be appearing in Market Square, while a number of fringe events are set for Harvey Nichols store, the Living Room and The Tiled Hall as for one night the city gives itself over to all forms of jazz from swing to ragtime.
Aside from showcasing performances, the festival also includes a Focus on Young Britain Day, which will see youthful musicians take over the civic space from 2.00pm to 10.30pm. Performances will be from Chichino, Organ Donor, Electric Dr M, Splay: Shabaka Hutchings, Led Bid and Finntet.
The shows from Chris Barber Band and Clare Teal take place on Sunday August 26th, with tickets priced £10 (£8 concessions), while the Focus on Young Britain is on Monday 27 with entry priced at £12 (£10 concessions).
