Animal Windfest, Sandbanks, nr Bournemouth

Some of the country's top windsurfing and kitesurfing talent will be competing in Bournemouth this weekend for the Animal Windfest.

Now in its ninth year, alongside the battle to be named UK Windsurfing Association national freestyle champion, the event also includes the Animal Tag Team Classic - a kind of nautical relay race - and the Neilpryde slalom event.

Meanwhile, landlubbers are catered for by the Animal Braun CruZer3 Bike Tour, the UK beach volleyball championships, a climbing wall and crazy golf.

Parties take place at night, with the Butterfly Ball - which this year takes a James Bond theme - set to include a sit-down meal and live music.

Animal Windfest takes place between September 14th and16th.
