Sunnier Climates for Brits on the National Express

18 December 2006

Visiting warmer or snowier climates is proving popular with UK travellers this Christmas. The major UK airports including Heathrow, Stansted and Gatwick together with Central London are the most popular destinations for people on the National Express. The UK's national coach network is increasing its capacity on services over the holiday period and is operating every day apart from Christmas Day - when only services connecting hotels to the terminals at Heathrow Airport will operate.

Wherever you want to go this Christmas, you can search the 1000 UK destinations on the national network and National Express promises an A to B guarantee and a seat for the entire journey.

National Express is also helping to cut the cost of Christmas by making more fares from £1 available. It's easy to book and there is no need to worry about the Christmas post as travellers can print an instant email 'e-Ticket' or text message 'm-Ticket' when booking with the National Express call centre or website. What's more everybody booking in December will receive a £5 travel voucher for January and February.

There are no peak time fares and even though people are encouraged to book as early as possible, extra coaches are added to the network if there is a demand during the holiday period.

"We are very proud to offer everyone the opportunity to travel at this delightful time of year. The coach drivers and station staff work very hard over Christmas to keep the country moving so people can visit friends and family in a safe and warm environment" said Karen Beasley, Head of Customer Service, National Express. The company's Directors and Management Team will also be working at the stations over the Christmas period.

Across the National Express network and services to the UK airports, a normal service is running everyday apart from Boxing Day and New Years Day when a slightly reduced timetable will operate.

To find more information visit www.nationalexpress.com and enter in the journey details to find the Christmas timetable or call the National Express call centre every day apart from Christmas day between 08.00 - 22.00 on 08717 818181 (hours may vary in between Christmas and New Years Day).
