Welsh Open Kayak and Surf Ski Championships, Cardiff

Some of the country's foremost kayaking, surfing and waterskiing talent is expected to descend on Cardiff in September for the Welsh Open Kayak and Surf Ski Championships.

The event traditionally attracts entrants from Cornwall as well as from traditional English flat water clubs, who will be competing in both long distance and sprint races over Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of September.

Saturday's highlight is set to an 8km race on the River Taff, while Sunday is given over to sprint races to be held in front of the Water Activity Centre.

Events on Saturday run from 12:00 to 16:00 BST, while Sunday's programme commences at 9:00 and closes at 15:00.

Spectators are admitted free of charge, with prizes for category winners provided by Child's Play Surf Gear.
