Birmingham host Chelsea at St Andrews

Birmingham City host Premier League title challengers Chelsea on Saturday January 19th, looking to upset the odds and take three points from the game.

St Andrews is sure to be packed to the rafters when Avram Grant's Chelsea are the visitors, with Birmingham returning home in a positive mood after grabbing a 1-1 draw against Arsenal last weekend at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have recently added French striker Nicolas Anelka to their squad and will be hoping that his arrival can help counteract the departure of Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Soloman Kalou and John Obi Mikel to Ghana for the African Cup of Nations.

Birmingham's form since former Scotland manager Alex McLeish took charge in November has been relatively good, marked with notable away performances at Tottenham, where they won 3-2, and Arsenal.

The club - and the fans - will be hoping protracted negotiations with Everton over the signing of James McFadden will be resolved ahead of Saturday's game and that the Scotland international will be able to join Birmingham.
