Shakespeare For Kidz, Pier Theatre, Bournemouth

The Shakespeare For Kidz will be staging a unique musical adaptation of Hamlet in Bournemouth next month, to bring the Bard to a younger audience.

The streamlined version of the Prince of Denmark's story promises to lighten and simplify the Elizabethan language with knockabout humour, slapstick and songs.

Shakespeare's Hamlet is the tale of the titular Prince's returns home to attend his funeral, whereupon he discovers that his mother is to marry his Uncle Claudius, who subsequently becomes king.

Shaken by events, the Prince begins to see the ghost of his dead father on the ramparts of his castle and thus begins a mysterious story of murder, intrigue and revenge, as he tries to prove that his father was murdered by his uncle.

The updated Hamlet will be showing in Bournemouth at the Pier Theatre on November 2nd.
