Scots Fiddle Festival, Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh
Fans of traditional Celtic music are in for a treat this November as the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh host the annual Scots Fiddle Festival.
Running from Friday November 16th through to Sunday November 18th 2007, the event will see three concerts, two ceilidhs and Esmkills Cabaret over the Friday and Saturday.
Furthermore, festival-goers will be able to participate in a number of recitals, workshops and seminars taking place over the last two days of the event, while younger Celts and Celtophiles will be able to enjoy the Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin.
This year's festival will see the world premier Scots Fiddle Concerto by Simon Thourmire, featuring the talents of Mairi Campbell, Aidan O'Rourke, Gordon Gunn, Jenna Reid and Patsy Reid.
While noting rave reviews for a number of performers at this year's concerts, the Scots Fiddle Festival reminds guests that "as ever, the real stars will be that unique combination of all who attend and the Assembly Rooms itself".
The Assembly Rooms were constructed in 1787 and host a number of key events throughout the year, including a number of Edinburgh Fringe performances.
Address: Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, Edinburgh, EH2 2LR
