Samhuinn Festival, Edinburgh
The Samhuinn Festival, possibly the biggest Halloween event in the country, will be lighting up Edinburgh's Royal Mile on October 31st.
Presented by the Beltane Society, Samhuinn is Celtic New Year, marking the end of summer, as well as being the night of the dead - a time for those who died in the last year to visit their loved ones for one last time.
Featuring a spectacular exhibition of music, folk dance, physical theatre and pyrotechnics on procession down the Royal Mile, the festival will retell a traditional folk play, where the court of the Summer King is defeated by the Winter King - with the help of plenty of fireworks.
