What's on guide
Rufus Wainwright, Millennium Centre, Cardiff
Flamboyant singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright comes to Cardiff this month as part of a nationwide tour in support of his warmly received album Release The Stars.
The album, Wainwright's fifth long player, sees the son of folk legends Kate McGarrigle and Loudon Wainwright III, continue his enthusiasm for finely crafted orchestral baroque and roll.
Recent tours have seen the members of his band dress up as characters from the Rocky Horror Show in an-all dancing, all-stripping finale, suggesting that spectacle will once again be on the agenda for this latest jaunt around the UK venues.
Support on the night comes from Scott Matthews, a fellow singer-songwriter, who has been nominated for an Ivor Novello songwriting award and was once described as "the missing link between Jeff Buckley and Led Zeppelin".
Address: Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff CF10 5AL.
The show takes place October 22nd.
