Manchester Science Week
Manchester will celebrate the wonder of technology and scientific advancements later this month at the inaugural Manchester Science Festival.
Comprising over 100 fun and educational events, the event aims to enthuse attendees about science, technology and engineering and takes place between 20th-28th October.
Among the attractions are a city walk hosted by historians from the University of Manchester, which examines the former Victorian-era industrial powerhouse's role in engineering and healthcare.
Meanwhile, Captivating Chemistry: A Flash Bang Show, dubbing itself "an extravaganza of light, colour, fire explosions" which illustrates the louder and brighter side of chemistry is sure to be a highlight.
RSPB - The Science of Flight will also see staff and volunteers from the wildlife organisation explain how wing size and shape affect the dynamics of flight.
Manchester Science Week takes place at venues throughout the city including the Museum of Science and Industry and the Manchester Museum.
