Manchester Pride, Manchester
Manchester Pride, the north of England's premier gay and transgender event is taking place all this week until August 27 (Bank Holiday Monday).
This year's event includes an expanded Pride Games - an alternative athletics event - as well as screenings of the best in new gay cinema, comedy and live music from the NME darlings Gossip, 80s pop princess Belinda Carlisle, Betty Boo, Gareth Gates, the Dresden Dolls and Four Poofs and a Piano.
Meanwhile, participating clubs will be hosting a raft of club nights with dj sets from former Big Brother star Kate Lawler, while Kylie fans will be able to visit a specially organised exhibition and club night themed around her music and style.
Tickets for the event are priced £15 or £18 on the door (not including booking fee) with proceeds going to charity.
