Madness, National Indoor Arena, Birmingham
Ska revival legends Madness play Birmingham later this month as part of a nationwide tour.
Having formed in the late 1970s in Muswell Hill, the band went on to become one of Britain's most popular bands with adults and children - for whom they played underage shows in the afternoon.
At their peak they penned a series of terrific hit singles including One Step Beyond's riotous boozy take on ska, the Ray Davies' of the Kinks-style vignette Our House and Baggy Trousers - a bittersweet, nostalgic invocation of the band's school days.
Madness reformed first in 1992 and have done so periodically ever since for tours that are never short of sell outs - underscoring the great affection in which they are held by the British public.
Madness play the National Indoor Arena on December 12th.
Address: National Indoor Arena, King Edwards Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, B1 2AA.
