Punk poet John Cooper Clarke will be playing in Leeds tonight for one night only.
Recently cited as an inspiration by the Arctic Monkeys, Cooper Clarke deals in rhythmic rock and roll-influenced verse, which is delivered acapella in a rapid-fire manner.
Since emerging in the late 1970s, the self-proclaimed Bard of Salford has been the opening act for a number of legendary bands including the Sex Pistols, The Fall, Joy Division, the Buzzcocks and Elvis Costello.
His recent shows have seen him add stand-up comedy to his oeuvre, drawing on years of experience in and around the music business.
