Dial M for Murder, Crescent Theatre, Birmingham
A stage production of Alfred Hitchcock's Dial M For Murder is currently showing in Birmingham.
The play tells the story of a love triangle between Tony, Sheila and Mark, and takes in deceit, a bungling hitman, blackmail and, as the title suggests, murder most foul.
Filmed in 1954, Dial M For Murder enjoys a critical reputation almost the equal of the self-proclaimed master of suspense's masterpieces Rear Window and Psycho.
Among the themes explored by the show are the notion that in Hitchcock's words 'In matters of guilt all are greys"- with viewers and protagonists alike becoming by subtle gradations slowly implicated in the wrongdoing being enacted.
Dial M For Murder will be showing at the Crescent Theatre until December 15th.
Address: Crescent Theatre, 20 Sheepcote St, Birmingham, B16 8AE.
