Calzaghe vs Kessler, Millennium Stadium, Cardiff

Welsh boxer Joe Calzaghe will take on Mikkel Kessler next month in a unification super middleweight world title fight at the Millennium Stadium.

Set to take place in front of a passionate, highly charged crowd keen to spur their local hero on to greater heights, the fight marks the Newbridge fighter's 21 title defence following April pulsating encounter with American Peter Manfredo.

The bout, which is already being talked about as the fight of the year, comes just over a decade since 35-year-old Calzaghe won the title by beating Chris Eubank in Sheffield - he is yet to lose in the ring since.

Meanwhile, Kessler, who hails from Denmark and has been dubbed the Viking Warrior, is also undefeated and boasts a record 38-0 since turning professional in 1998.

The fight takes place November 3rd.
