Bristol Shakespeare Festival
Visitors to Bristol will be brushing up their Shakespeare this week as the Bristol Shakespeare Festival continues with a contemporary playwright's interpretation of Robin Hood had it been written by the bard.
Staged in Bristol Zoo, the play tells the tale of the noble outlaw and early Marxist's battle against Prince John and the Sherriff of Nottingham's swingeing taxes and despotic rule.
The festival marks the first tour by a Globe Theatre Company to Bristol since the closure of the public theatres in 1642 and has so far seen productions of Much Ado About Nothing, the Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet and Twelfth Night.
Robin Hood runs until August 16th, with tickets priced £12 for adults and £6 for children.
