What's on guide
Brian Wilson, Manchester Palace Theatre, Manchester
Former Beach Boy and legendary singer and songwriter, Brian Wilson, will be performing a newly-commissioned work at the Manchester Palace Theatre on September 23rd.
The new piece, That Lucky Old Sun (A Narrative) is inspired by the 1949 classic of the same name, and the performance includes the original music, as well as newly-composed pieces and spoken word narration, and has received rave reviews in the music press.
Wilson's return to the UK will be welcomed by many, and not just those old enough to remember the perfect pop of the Beach Boys from the first time around.
In 2002, Wilson toured the UK, playing the entire Beach Boys album, Pet Sounds, to packed crowds and rapturous praise, in his first-ever solo UK shows since the break-up of the Beach Boys in the late 1960s. The release of the legendary Smile in 2004 was also a runaway success.
Address: Oxford Street, Manchester City Centre, Manchester, M1 6FT.
