What's on guide
Beirut, The Arches, Glasgow
Hotly tipped indie favourites Beirut play Glasgow's The Arches later this month to promote their new album The Flying Cup Club.
The band's sound is a unique blend of traditional Eastern European instrumentation with contemporary guitar music, a direction they arrived at thanks in part to 20-year-old band leader Zach Condon's extensive travels through Europe's hinterlands as a teenager.
Beirut's live shows are notable for the players swapping instruments between songs with joyful abandon and for the band's habit of walking among the crowd during the show.
The gig takes place November 7th.
Other forthcoming shows at The Arches include live appearances from The Men They Couldn't Hang, former Dead Kennedy's frontman Jello Biafra and Australian drum'n'bass heroes Pendulum.
Address: The Arches, 253 Argyle St, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
