A Study in Sherlock: Uncovering the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection, Portsmouth

The life of Arthur Conan Doyle, best-known as the creator of Victorian detective Sherlock Holmes, forms the focus of a new exhibition currently showing in Portsmouth.

A Study in Sherlock: Uncovering the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection includes a range of interactive activities as well as collector Lancelyn Green's 40,000 items, archives and artefacts relating to Arthur Conan Doyle and his fictional alter-ego Sherlock Holmes.

There is also a narration from actor Stephen Fry - the patron of the collection - and a new Sherlock Holmes mystery The Case of the Portsmouth Doctor, which has been especially written and performed for the exhibition.

Children are catered for in the form of clue trails and a workshop where they can create their own detective stories.
The exhibition is free to attend and runs everyday from 10:00 am BST to 17:00 pm.

Address: Museum Road, Old Portsmouth, Portsmouth, Hants, PO1 2LJ.
